The Wilkes-Barre area is located in the center of NEPA. It is made up of Wilkes-Barre Township and Wilkes-Barre City.  The Wilkes-Barre area is home to the Wilkes/Scranton Penguins Hockey and the Mohegan Sun Casino, and only a short drive to places such as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, Electric City Aquarium, The Luzerne County Fair, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders Minor League Baseball.

        This areas public school is Wilkes-Barre Area School District, and has multiple options for private schools such as Wilkes-Barre Academy for elementary and Holy Redeemer for High School.  Both King’s College and Wilkes University are both located in Wilkes-Barre for higher education.  Along with Penn State Wilkes-Barre Campus, and Misericordia University being a short drive away.

It is also not far from local fresh farms such as Hillside Farms, Brace’s Orchard, Dymonds farm, Darlings Farm, Delkanics Greenhouse & Farm Market, and Whistle Pig Farm.  Each farm offers seasonal activities such as pumpkin, blueberry, strawberry, and sunflower picking!  Along with selling their fresh fruits, veggies, milk, and ice cream.
