It is made up Dorrance Township, Fairview Township, Rice Township, Slocum Township, and Wright Township.  It’s home to multiple lakes including Lake Blytheburn, Nuangola Lake, The Ice Ponds, Fountain Lake, Kielar Lake and more.  Mountain Top is only a short drive to places such as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, Electric City Aquarium, The Luzerne County Fair, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders Minor League Baseball, Wilkes/Scranton Penguins Hockey and the Mohegan Sun Casino.

        This areas public school is Crestwood School District, with multiple options for private elementary schools.  Mountain top area is a drivable distance to higher education options in the area such as Penn State Wilkes-Barre Campus, King’s College, Wilkes University and Misericordia University.

        Mountain Top is home to Wright Township Recreation Park, Penobscot Mountain Trail, D&L Tail Black Diamond Trailhead, Snapper run trail, and Mountain Top Trail for walking, running and biking.  Along with outdoor activities, Mountain Top offers indoor gyms such as 10X Fitness, The Fitness Place, and Danko’s Mountain Top.  This area also offers yoga at Mountain Yoga and golf at Blue Ridge Trail Golf Club.

        The Mountain Top area is not far from local fresh farms such as Hillside Farms, Brace’s Orchard, Dymonds farm, Darlings Farm, Delkanics Greenhouse & Farm Market, and Whistle Pig Farm.  Each farm offers seasonal activities such as pumpkin, blueberry, strawberry, and sunflower picking!  Along with selling their fresh fruits, veggies, milk, and ice cream.
